It's now called the Mae Young Classic. Will take place July 13 and 14

If they would've called this the Fabulous Moolah Classic

Mae Young was a jobber as a young wrestler and a clown as an old lady. Plus Mae was a stick-up artist back in the day.

They should have named the damn thing after Wendi Richter or Sherri Martel. Could have even roped HBK and Booker in to be a part of the tournament if it was named after Sherri since she was both of their valets.

It’s been reported that WWE is planning to hold the finals of the tournament on Tuesday, August 29th. It was also reported that the company is interested in using former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Jade aka Mia Yim and Marti Belle for the tournament. There has been some talk of using Kennadi Brink and Candice LeRae for the tournament as well.

According to F4WOnline, WWE has asked currently contracted ITV wrestler, Viper, to compete in the upcoming 32-Woman tournament, entitled; “The Mae Young Classic”. WWE previously had no interest in signing any of these talents because they were under ITV deals.

The GLOW tv show airs on Netflix soon and is going to get a bit of shine I imagine. WWE fukked up big time by not getting one of their stars a part in it. That crossover appeal to what they're trying to do with this tournament, and such would have helped bring in a wave of new fans.
