I just know in previous madden if both possessions weren't done, they just run the clock to a 2nd ot vs having it untimed

no it's not. Online games are played like playoff games, no such thing as a quarters ending the game are ties in ot games, regardless if the next quarter comes that team get to try and store if no tds have been scored yet.
