Once you learn to embrace the fukkery, there's no choice but to love it.

This is true. I noticed that I am able to give more into the storylines and let kayfabe live again with LU.

Man.... I absolutely LOVE everyone of the backstage segments........ they really help ground the show and its cool seeing how everyone seems all in with it, nothing feels forced, and I love the lighting.... the use of darkness and shadows is brilliant

I'm not shytting on the E.... but I'm not saying anything outlandish or wrong either.

I also dont hate Daniel Bryan, though I do think that Bryan Danielson was more entertaining and showed us more than Bryan Daniels ever did.... if that makes sense.... but I dont hate dude.

Punk really the only one that achieved the so call "dream" that everyone always uses when they say "see, such and such should go to the E and get out of inferior leagues" (bullshyt).

DB slightly reached it and was possibly on that path till injuries and bad luck but it was completely wack how they had to embarrass him and tear him down to build him up there.

Seth story is still being written, yes he's had a great year.... but so once did Jack Swagger and Khali. His story is still being written and only time will tell.

KO had a nice spark but then they stupidly cooled him off (he's just kind of "there" now) and Dean is stale, yes he may have his fans... but he's not the same level of fire he was early on (and I'll use that term fire cautiously).

Now I will acknowledge those are decent stories... 5 decent stories, but in the grande scheme of things a small percentage of a lot of guys that came through and either got buried, misused, benched, and ultimately fired for whatever reason. For every Punk theres been like 10-15 or more PAC like stories.

(I mean really how many times have we said "Damn this guys awesome why they let him go?" or "wait, they really didnt want this guy?")

And speaking of PAC.... I dont really think getting a "spotlight" is taking on Stardust for months at hand, trading victories, and losing matches vs other opponents. The only thing thats spotlighted about his is "oh he's the guy with a cool finisher" and thats sad, cuz there is more to him than that. Just like Ceasaro "oh he's the guy that speaks several languages and can swing people"

RTruth is tremendously talented.... could be a great heel world champ..... but they sabotaged booked him dropping his stock to a clown ass nicca and now his best "spotlight showcase" is to act stupid or ignorant and come out awkwardly and do something stupid for someone else entertainment. The laugh "AT you" not "WITH you" (ala Rock's comical spots) shyt.

El Patron has been GREAT on this show..... Del Rio has been..... meh... back in the E. Oh yes... he's a midcard champ... good for him... but honestly.... did anyone really care?

I get that not everyone can be number one.... but there is a way to make guys on your roster look credible, strong, legit, and believeable.... LU has done an EXCELLENT way of showcasing that.

When Drago faces Mil Muertes..... I'm not changing the channel hell when Sexy Star faces Pentagon Jr I'm not changing the channel cuz I know the match wont be boring and I really dont know who is gonna win.

But when I see say Henry vs Adam Rose, or Stardust vs TO.... they way they hurt the stock of all those guys, I dont really feel obligated to watch it not to mention its already predictable who's going to win. Then Main Event to Main Event.... its not even a contest at this point.

Seriously.... I'm not even trynna shyt on the E. I just wish they would demand better and really focus on executing better vs talk up faux motivation with the "brass ring" shyt knowing gotdamn well its really them (the writers/bookers) thats fukking shyt up being lazy. They sell you harder on buying merchandise and subscribing to this and that than they do selling you on why you should care about someone else other than Cena and who ever is in the top 4 spot at the moment.

If they dont believe in those guys, why should I?

ECW was actually presented in a great way, though. They had recaps of the longer matches from the house shows during the week, and hit all the storylines. TNN tried to get them to turn down the violence and turn up the fukkery which would have done better for TNN's tv audience at the time, but was absolutely not what ECW's paying customers were in for. ECW lived off of it's "shoot" culture.

LU's fukkery now is a fresh of breath air because of how long it's been since something like this, but in 1998 we're barely a few years removed from Robocop showing up, and the Yetti making run-ins. This sort of high kayfabe fukkery would have never survived. It's exactly what people were sick of and turned on.

I dont know man....

Not even mentioning "Deadmen" shooting lighting from their finger or rising from the grave and "Monster's" dragging people to HELL. We've had midget draw holes in walls then run through them and Boogiemen, Zombies, Pirates, invisible children, among other things.

This kinda fukkery would've been fine

Thats the thing though... instead of properly developing him and giving him leeway to shine.... its like they wanted to constrain him to a box and then pushed cats like Miz, Swagger, Khali, Tista, etc heavily and harder over him. On this show I was excited everytime I saw him (pause) and watched all his matches..... now when I see him on Raw.... I just skip the match.

Big Rick is another one that is dramatically impressive.... he is selling the fukk out of that eyepatch and I like his character a lot.... he is all about his paper..... currently on the July 22 ep where it starts with Dario trynna sell him on the medallions and ask him "what would you rather have, money or power?" It was cool to see Rick stick true to his character and still extort Dario for his cash while also accepting the route for power. He's had some cool backstage scenes that have impressed the fukk out of me.

^Funny how the simple act of creative freedom can be beneficial huh? I had no reason to cheer Ezekiel Jackson other than him being a new black wrestler fighting heel. A default face pretty much. In LU, I was invested in his character even as a heel. He had an actual motive and gave you a reason to care. Bret Hart was dead on accurate about the absence of character investment today.
