Damn I hadn't seen that Shumpert vid :to:

Well it's not like Starbuy is the first guy to say that Melo and Stat don't really mesh well, and I def agree with his assessment of Dolan.

Let's see what a full training camp will lead to.

Marbury is right that the Melo trade was about $$. One of the leagues top young stars openly says he wants to come to NY while still in his prime? Hell yeah Dolan was gonna make that happen. I disagree with him that Stat and Melo can never work. Both dudes gotta change defensively for NY to have regular and post season success. Offensively, they're fine. Do we really need more than 18 ppg from Stat? I think no. We DO need 11 rpg tho! A Melo line of 24 ppg, 8-9.5 rpg, 4+ apg would be nice too. And their scoring averages could increase cuz I'm not too sure who the 3rd option is. Felton? Smith?

Good article on Smith. I think the writer was on to something about JR making up for lost time in his youth with all the tats and etc now cuz he was on a short leash with his parents. I remember watching some kinda rookie special back when he and Trevor Ariza were rookies. It was mainly about JR adjusting to rookie life and his pops was living with him. Pops and JR were standing outside in front of a hotel I think, and Ariza pulled up in a Lexus drop coupe. JR was like :ooh: Yo Pops can I get one?? Big Earl was like :smugdraper: Man you better be happy with that Chrysler 300c. So I guess once they loosened the reins JR went a lil buck.

K Zoe I dont think we'll get quite that many rebounds out of Melo but I agree about the assists though, i think hes definitely capable of averaging near 5 assists a game.

As for Stat, Im not too concerned with how many points he averages. But he needs to step up and score 30 when the Knicks need him to, he needs to be that Stat that can take over a game when necessary. And I'd be cool with 9 rpg from Stat, we cant forget that we have Chandler who gets between 9 and 10.

The Miseducation of J.R. Smith

Is the Knicks' erratic shooting guard misguided or just misunderstood?

Is the New York Knicks' shooting guard J.R. Smith misguided or just misunderstood? - Grantland
Earl Smith Jr. remembers riding a stationary bike in the Nuggets' training facility and seeing Karl enter with his assistants, unaware that Earl was J.R.'s father. "I'm going to bust that Smith kid's ass," Smith overheard Karl say to his staff before realizing that his father was present.
After particularly poor play from Smith in Game 4 of a playoff series against the Spurs in 2007, Karl memorably hissed, "I just love the dignity of the game being insulted right in front of me."
