exactly which is why I want him on the Knicks so bad.
When teams double Melo, you need someone on the perimeter (a 3rd scorer) that can make them pay by either getting in the paint, making the defense collapse, drawing fouls, making passes out of that. Felton can not do this. Kid can't do it anymore.
His game is more like a Westbrook when it comes to stats. High turnovers, shoot first PG. Lin can get you 20-30pts if you don't pay attention to him because he gets in the paint & can finish. And he's young.
He's a little better with passing in regards to Westbrook but their ego is about the same (just with a different demeanor on the court). Obviously, Westbrook is way more explosive.
IMO, Lin stat wise is a poor mans Russell Westbrook....but with another scorer like STAT in the starting line up it makes the offense work better...so Lin doesn't have to force as much as Westbrook.
Training camp together all of this would gel & it would come to fruition in the season & playoffs. This is a terrible decision if the Knicks don't match.

Look lets be real. This deal was off the minute Melo said that Chris Paul would be in NY soon.
Not that it's Melo's fault (though I believe he should not have commented period because you're giving the media jackals what they want) but there is going to be a serious rift in that locker room if they give Lin what he wants. We cannot afford to have that right now, they need to be learning how to function as a team.

I hope Melo realizes that with Lin gone and Amare not what he used to be, the pressure is ALL ON HIM now. Now the Knicks are officially his, and that includes the losses.
Like someone said before, when Melo gets doubled now, who is the other option to go off?

JR Smith is the second option and that scares the fukk out of me...
The offense is going through Melo and JR next year...Jr is basically Woodson's version of JJ in Atlanta....freelance on the perimeter and shoot a lot.
