What does Karen mean? Is it a new term like how we used to say Becky (or Beckies) to describe cac women?

I'm not always aware or up on this kinda stuff...so a bit of clarity would be helpful.

There is a clip earlier in this thread of a woman with her kid causing a big ol ruckus because the lady behind the counter is speaking Chinese to her colleague. The fact that the poor kid is probably traumatised witnessing his mom lose all self control in public does not cross her mind. What then turns her from a regular crazy person having a breakdown to a Karen is when she then asks to speak to a manager. That sense of entitlement is what defines a Karen.
