The funny thing is, what you're seeking out already exists in the original Jurassic Park book. It's straight sci-fi horror with some ridiculously gory passages.

fukk it, reboot jurrasic park but makeit closer to the book. Iirc the book opens with a childsface being eaten or something. I just remembered it going wayyyy harder than the film.

It was kind of underwhelming
Nobody really gets eaten outside of like two people & one of those were implied.

Didn't show enough of the city being terrorized either.

The little kids were terrible actors. Like disney channel bad.

Best part of the movie didn't even involve the dinosaurs. It was the chase scene for the teenager.
Story felt rushed as well.

Outside of Kayla watts and some nice character moments with grant and Ellie, I really wasn’t feeling this. It wasted the set up from fallen kingdom in favor of something very safe and convoluted to build call backs around and stroke the nostalgia itch. Or just a way to put two generations together.

A Jurassic park story or movie should ultimately highlight man’s folly and the blunders that happen when playing God. This one said nothing new about that and added nothing to the series overall that wasn’t already added several movies ago.
