It was our desire to keep Joe Budden on Spotify. As Joe referenced on his show, we made him a considerable offer — one that was significantly larger and many times the value of the existing agreement and reflective of the current market and size of his audience. Unfortunately, we could not come to terms and we respect his wishes to find a new home for his show.

Why do I feel like the majority of these people that listen to JBP are aspiring podcasters? Cause I don’t understand why they get so hype over these convo’s.

I've checked this out here & there, it's funny at times but the chatty pattiness, Hov dikkriding, The hosts coming across as unlikeable(especially Mal) them slurping Drake but downplaying Nas, caping for Doja Cat etc..Idk why people take their word as gospel..Podcast haven't been the same for me since Tax got locked & Combat Jack passed..Both way better podcasts & more informative

They should start a pateron, stream live on twitch and upload the finished stream to YouTube. Then just upload audio to Spotify, apple music, etc, etc. Take on ads and sponsorships.

And I could 100% see Spotify wanting to own their separate businesses under the umbrella like the pull up and shyt. Spotify going back on the rolexes and refusing to use the money to give back to the podcasts supporters for Christmas is extremely shytty and unappreciative too.

Lowball will always be subjective. The fact is the deal is worth a lot more than what they’re making currently. To shoot the sh*t a few hours a week. I respect art and creation, but you have to know how to play your cards right. Either that, or get a better poker player to play for you. He needs a legitimate agent.

From what Joe is saying he didn’t want to be in a 360 deal and I can respect that.

Joe should create a Patreon and move the Saturday show behind a paywall, and provide additional content like a P-Valley deep dive show, or whatever show all the guys are watching. Dude can even do a, "tales from the road" show.

Patreon is the way to get a bag while not relinquishing creative control to a podcasting company. They will have to do more work than before, but I think it's worth the creative control.

At the end of the day it comes down to what the new deal looks like. Hopefully, they have something in place before the last show because I love the pod. But he think's he's bigger than he is. Spotify could careless if he moves on.

I don’t think they’re lying, I think we only heard there perspective of the situation and we haven’t seen the details

They’re misrepresenting the facts on vacation. Spotify never said that they couldn’t take vacation. They said pre record material to play while you’re away.

Why would Spotify say “go pick out some watches” and then say “never mind” when they give Spotify their choices? Doesn’t it sound like some details are missing?

If they really did hit whatever measures to trigger the bonus and didn’t get the bonus then we should be expecting a JBP lawsuit against Spotify. It actually should’ve already happened
