He deserved to get his back kicked in last time too. Netlflix came to dude about a reboot and he said it should be my story about how I came up
fukk everybody else huh
He’s not on good terms with the rest of the cast especially Carl and Harriet as they treated him badly when he was a kid and became the star of the show. He’s spoken about how Urkel was supposed to just be a one time guest star and he ended up becoming the literal star of the show replacing Carl and Harriet and the jealousy led them to treating him bad so its been “fukk everybody else” for years in his mind.
Living Single isnt a hood show. I wouldn't classify Martin as a hood show either. I've seen ppl say Martin is "blacker" than Fresh Prince, but that is more like a class issue thing the shows differ on and not Martin being a hood show. Martin, to me, was closer to black shyt/relatable than Fresh Prince. Baby Boy is hood shyt.
Jaleel on bullshyt tho. I guarantee you Fresh Prince is in the top 3 of those polls and that isnt a hood show. I feel like Wayans Bro/Jamie Foxx Show/ My Wife and Kids would rank higher in those same "favorite black show" polls and they arent hood either imo.
He’s absolutely wilding about that bullshyt. Family Matters isn’t held in higher regard frankly for two reasons.
The later seasons of the show were absolute horse shyt. As the show focused more and more on Urkle as he grew up the storylines got dumber and dumber and the heart of the first 4 seasons was overshadowed by goofy writing as they kept trying to outdo themselves with Urkle hijinks.
Nobody from the show ever broke out FROM the show and went on to do bigger and better things. Will Smith went onto to become one of the most successful movie stars who ever lived which helps Fresh Prince’s legacy. Martin Lawrence went onto to become a huge star which helps Martin’s legacy. Queen Latifah went onto become an Oscar nominated multi-hyphenate which helps Living Single’s legacy. Meanwhile Jaleel White will always be known as Urkel forever even though he’s managed to carve a career as a voice actor and doing guest spots on sitcoms.
