I’m sorry but that was one of the dumbest segments I’ve ever listened to. Like some Saudi’s son is in position to make decisions like Joe is talking….
The music business is not struggling the issue is we’ve reached market saturation of getting people to pay for music and the private equity firms who demand growth at all cost now have no option but to cut costs to juice the stock price. These labels are “fighting” over small percentage points of market share. The idea someone is writing an enormous check to anyone right now is ludicrous.
I would imagine the real issue here is that Drake wants a bigger cut of his catalog because he knows that’s where his future money lies.
