Also consider the return they get off of him. Granted we don't know what the label got in return but the returns and profit margins aren't as high when you give someone 400Ms compared to the possible returns you can get when you give someone 40Ms. They could make a higher margin off of betting on somebody smaller than Drake and getting back a bigger return percentage wise.
