I'm lost on why he didn't just walk away once he realized UMG didn't wanna play ball anymore, he could've went to Warner or Sony

I guess because of Lucian Grange. He's the most powerful CEO in music right now. I'm at the part of the pod and Joe is in his bag. Drake missed his window to try to make all the moves he wants to do now. He's still him but his popularity is waning a bit. The tide is turning.

Also consider the return they get off of him. Granted we don't know what the label got in return but the returns and profit margins aren't as high when you give someone 400Ms compared to the possible returns you can get when you give someone 40Ms. They could make a higher margin off of betting on somebody smaller than Drake and getting back a bigger return percentage wise.

This is the first time I’ve seen Joe noticeably drunk and slurring words on the podcast Drake got him crashing out

I also don’t believe anything he says about this beef because he (nor his sources) haven’t been right about anything so far

Budden has alluded to Drake not being in a good spot in the industry even before his battle with Kendrick.

Drake gets easily triggered by Budden because he knows Joe is correct about a lot of the shyt he's saying.

thing about that 100 gigs shyt was it was so unorganized, who the hell wants to sift through all of that shyt. He could've easily made that documentary style and make it worth going through.

Joe been doing this “nobody know their self worth, they’re all stupid” thing for years..and still ends up having to take prize picks deals like all the other podcasters do cuz he can’t get the deals he thinks he deserves

They talk about jay z like he isn’t taking the same deals (but on a bigger scale obviously)…jay just networks and builds relationships like no other artist ever has, so he’s able to get himself into better positions that keep kinda climbing him up the ladde

Seems like Drake was trying to pull a power move and demonstrate how he didn't need UMG, but ended up finding out how much his music relied on that major label push.
