Can't believe I'm seeing people who been listening for 5+ years try to convince themselves the pod was never good until nowYeah rewatching some of these clips posted some of yall buggin out bout the pod wasn't "that great y'all affected by nostalgia". And I know it's y'all tryna revise history who wasn't even tuning in live during its peak or when it was struggle status with Marisa too that sayin that. Rory Mal ain't talk or discuss shyt.....Yeah that wasn't the point of what made it special. The chemistry they had and the comedy the pod got too was something else. No moments from the Ish/Ice era is even comin close to the best moments from there. They haven't got that upper echelon true stand the test of time classic moments like that.
It's great now but it's like comparing Chappelle Show (Rory/Mal) to Atlanta (Ish/Ice/Mel/Flip). Yeah the latter is more cohesive, consistent, better dialogue but the highs, chemistry and classic moments you can randomly remember or want to go watch a clip of do not compare at all. I don't even remember YouTubing a memorable moment from the Ice/Ish era to go back to rewatch and while Mel and Flip have been great they haven't got it like that either. The funniest moments in this era have been 8-9/10 funny the peak of Rory & Mal run with Joe was at like 15/10 level. I remember moments I had to leave my workplace to gather myself from how hard I was about to or laughing or if I was eating and listening to it tryin hard as fukk to stop laughin and it wasn't workin I remember spittin food some days. Sometimes I had tears from how hard I was laughing. It's great now but it's not like that.
gotta take into account that joe was younger and funnier back then. Look at how much he has aged over the years.
I think this new crew is perfect for him and where he’s trying to go (jbp network), but the Rory and Mal era is podcasting at its highest form imo. No guests needed.

Yup. Mal provides zero to a show. Even if you don't like Flip you can't say he provides nothing.
Wasn't a fan of the Flip addition at first but i feel like he has calmed down a lot since his first episode.

Damn I just finished the previous ep (the one with Zaire Franklin) and I gotta say that host makeup was better than with Flip. I like Flip, like the kick in the ass he brought to those lazy nikkas. But the chemistry of Zaire with the rest of the camp was dope. Obviously he can't host that shyt regularly with training camp and OTAs right around the corner but still, I fukked with him a lot. Finally some young energy on this shyt, somebody in the mix.
And I like that this nikka Joe finally admitted his fanbase is predominantly male and yes, talking about football works. You saw the Super Bowl ratings nikka, and the playoff ratings nikka. People want to talk about that shyt.
