EYL interview wasn't terrible, surprisingly. I'm not familiar with them so I assumed it would be similar to a lot of "hip black investor" shyt right now where they advocate obvious bullshyt or scams. So to hear more mentions of EFTs than NFTs was a welcome surprise. That being said the "hold your bitcoin" shyt is laughable and I'm blown away no one will admit it. Everyone is on the same boat as if they know it doesn't matter if it goes down, because they all go down with it. You'd expect at least one person to say fukk that, invest in real things.
An issue I did have is that there's never really any discussion on the show about what regular black people can do to invest. Regular black people can't afford bitcoin. What should they be doing? What index funds are good to start with? What should you be doing with your 401k if you have one at work? etc
I feel you, but I can vouch for EYL. I forget where I learned about them like last year, but I subscribe to their free podcast and they do provide good basic info, good interviews with all types of celebs and “regular” entrepreneurs in the business world.
I don’t pay for their “EYL University”, but they do have all types of seminars about investing in the market, real estate, etc. I believe one of them used to be a teacher and the other has been in the financial advisory space for a long time.
I have a 401k, ROTH IRA and life insurance through Fidelity at my job…but I need to get deeper into long-term investments myself ASAP.
