Big Sean is terrible

But in an effort to be objective, When Ice says he doesn’t know what it is about Sean that he can’t get into, the answer is the punchline rap style

it just doesn’t work anymore for every dope line there’s a line that’s Beyond corny and those corny lines stick out.

Also, those type of rappers have never been the best at making music

I feel the same about Sean, it wasn’t until I was listening to Currensy song “the one” vs Big Sean’s “the one” and I enjoyed currensys more because I felt it as opposed to being punchlined to death by Sean, it almost sounds dated(I should make this a thread)

Cardi is wrong in that quote.

music is diverse af today. Even turn up music

EDIT: of course Joe makes the Alpo murder about him :mjlol:

EDIT: Ish is right, discussing alpo dying is no different than discussing rappers crime. Joe was agreeing with Ice too until Ish started making his point :mjlol:

Nah. The real problem is unless you’re a ladies man like Drake you can’t do the not-quite-street shyt like Kanye. Sean had no edge and had never tried to threaten anyone. Even Drake is verified by actual movers and shakers, carries a mystique and doesn’t back down from battles. Sean spent all that time on good music waiting on Kanye to do stuff for him and still felt underwhelmed cause he couldn’t find happiness on his own. Despite Kendrick’s label problems he’s still had that street edge. J Cole found a semi conscious lane to fill. What’s Sean’s? He’s dope but sometimes it’s not enough.

Sean was supposed to be the “fun” light hearted rapper. Ever since he curved and started doing more moody shyt people haven’t really fukked with it.

Dark sky paradise was cool but Sean was at his peak during the Finally Famous and mixtape era. Everytime i see one of these dudes start blaming kanye for their career or cutting them off it just makes me think they were nothing without the industry co-signs to begin with.

J cole and kendrick can drop entire albums with just their voice and some beats. There’s a point in your career where you gotta stand on your own or get left in the dust. Even now with him teaming up with Hitboy feels like a crutch to me

Ish is 00% right, and Ice trying to play both sides

You can't say "I saw kids championing Alpo's death who have nothing to do with the streets" and then also say "I'm not a street guy, I only listen to the music. But free such and such" who killed multiple people. If Ice just kept it to music, he'd have an argument, but once you say "Free Such and Such" who committed a crime, you're no different than the kids you were just calling out about discussing street shyt when they aren't a part of that life.
