That can't be right. How can you say that the 6S is gonna be on the chopping block next year, when the 5S is still getting updates?

I'd get the 8. While the differences aren't huge, they are present. Much better camera, build quality, sleeker, and longer os support would be worth the premium for me. I upgraded from a 6s+ to an XS Max, but have handled a few 8's. They're great phones.

I should've been more clear. When I said the 5s is still getting updates, I meant the 5S got the most recent iOS update that Apple released a month & and a half ago. I hadn't checked if it was getting the major iOS upgrade coming this Fall.
Are talking about iOS 14 in coming in fall 2020? How y'all so sure? It's gonna be 2 years for Apple to finally drop support of the 5S after the dropped support of the 5C & 5 back in 2017.

The 6s is still a very capable phone. Can you at least get a 7 though? It's just as good as the 8 and noticeably better than the 6s.

It's something of diminishing returns after the 6s once ios 13 drops. My xs max is nice, but i'd be just as happy with a 7 or up tbh.
