@illadope do you know anything about a new itunes release? version 12.3 and 12.3.1 are both unstable as fukk with all the damn freezing and beach ball, which makes it damn near unusable as a music player. this didn't happen til version 12.3 dropped.

How much ram do you have?

@illadope the problem with my itunes is the actual .itl file itself. If I create a new library and start adding mp3's, then it works fast like it should. However, if I switch back to my origial library, then its horrible.

How can I make a BRAND new itunes library with the contents of the old library? I have like 500+ playlist, and I am not trying to start from scratch cuz itunes wants to be retarded.

Was looking at your post like :wtf: until last night. I got hit by the beach ball all night as I was trying to put the new mictapes that dropped on my phone. I manually sync and deleting the itl file didn't do shyt for me. My problem was more so with trying to connect to the iTunes Store. Signing out helps, but it still isn't as good as it should be.

I'm going to revert my iTunes and see if that works.

I have old playlist that work from july that are saved, but it's november, and I've added so much content since then that I'd hate to go back to those. but I'll try to sign out method and see if that works. I also deleted all my smart playlist cuz they said that can cause issues. and I dont even use smartplaylist, I use regular ones.

It's so ridiculous. You have to close iTunes, turn off your wifi, open iTunes, sign out, then turn your wifi back on.

:dahell:

I gotta do all that shyt???? I think the problem with itunes is that they have integrated the stupid apple music and itunes store into itunes. if it were simply a media manager, these problems wouldn't exist.

Yeah it's convoluted and doesn't permanently work.

That's exactly the problem (integrating Apple Music). I haven't kept up with the updates so I don't know when the new version got installed. I haven't had any problems with either Mac until this update. It was fast, and even synced quickly over wifi. I thought my machine was messing up when I'd get the frequent beach balls because I'd be multitasking, but last night I was focused on tagging my music and adding it to my phone so I finally found the cause.

I think this is some sneaky bug that doesn't show up immediatey until some trigger causes it to happen. Otherwise, everyone would have had it as soon as they opened iTunes. Either way, this shyt needs to be fixed ASAP since their closed system makes everyone's library and music collection easy to get corrupted.

I just did all this, but I'm still getting spinning beach ball when switching songs or tagging songs occasionally. It's not unusable, but it's extremely annoying. Like I said, I could create a new library which would fix the issue, but that would take probably an entire day to get it right doing that.

btw, I turned off apple music and everything. I dont need that shyt in the first place.
