I know that part but apparently these blogs are saying Apple stopped signing 6.1.4 so if I do the above, itunes wont do the install and id get stuck in restore mode. and have to revert to one that is signed.

Seems they brushed up the new iOS in 7.1, I'm on the 5 and its much faster then 7.0, apps opening up much quicker, just seems faster in general which is funny because older units seem to worsen with new updates, not in this case though.

Looks alright on my Ipad 3. Transition animations seem quicker but most of the changes seem more cosmetic than anything. Like the keyboard a shade bolder and the device shut down.

Yeah looks like they accelerated the animations. Plus a fresh start is always gonna be a lil smoother. It's not that the phone is necessarily faster though.
Funny because there's a jailbreak tweak called accelerate that can do the same thing. All apple does is steal jailbreak tweaks and act like they're innovating.
