It might very well be the 4S, but I think the 4 is the one I have to try real world tests on since its the least powerful

my 4 had like 30 hours battery damn near every charge for 2 years
the 5 definitely has a weaker battery but some poeple like myself have had TERRIBLE battery life...im talking 8-10 hours TOPS

You just gotta make an appointment. Say you have terrible battery life like 4-7 hours max. They'll do a test and say noting is wrong to them and give you the option to replace it or upgrade the software. Just say you wanna try a new phone

I been on my moms plan on At@t and going to switch as her and my stepdad going.to.switch plans
Question is my mom.gave me an iphone 4s she found and i plan on using it cause when i ultimately switch to t mobile
1) if i was to unlock it and use it for att until the contract is up.is that possible?
2)also,is it safe to bring the phone into a t.mobile or att store and ask them if i can use it and will there be a trace since it was technially "lost"?

What carrier is ya iPhone ya mom found on? If its on AT&T you dont need to unlock it. Getting it unlocked ain't really nothin but a carrier won't do it for you

for the iphone 4 you can try to downgrade and jailbreak by fallowing the instructions here
note that this is a tethered jailbreak which means your device will need to be plugged in to a computer anytime its rebooted and also read the comments I remembered many people complaining it did not work when it first dropped
