you're proving my point. You just said i wont find a better more realistic basketball game. Like that means 2k is realistic. its not. It has realistic animations that make it "LOOK" real. thats what 2k is known for. dont confuse LOOK with game play. for instance you ever wonder why you are stuck in certain animations. its because if not they fear the game wouldnt look realistic. the truth is, it would look realistic like real life, not necessarily like a nba game if you dont have a good bball iq. if you play dumb ball it will look like a dumb ball player. but 2k doesnt want that. because it could make their game look quirky and bad visually. so they go with the approach of animations galore and they controll a lot of them. yes you can break out of more animations now then ever. but they still have a ton you cant break out of.
lets address the missed dunk animation. you already know what i'm talking about. This happens when a defender gets in between the dunker and the rim in time. So it makes the guy completely miss the rim and air ball the dunk. and fall out of the sky. some of that animation is spot on. but the no foul call is pure bs. its either a charge or a block 80% of the time. aint no way in hell you're going to see a nba player get undercut or a guy get to his spot on time and the offensive player is that high up and falls out of the sky for a no call. aint happening bruh. but 2k wont even call a foul. thats a turnover missed dunk. They put that in to combat over dunk abuse. But thats a problem to me. thats not realistic, thats so called anti cheese programming. i dont need that. i need realistic physics and realistic foul calls or closer to them.
i shouldnt need to turn it to hall of fame mode to make me miss shots because i make unrealistic shots in the default mode. there shouldnt be any other mode asides from default. if its so realistic. there shouldnt be a need for editing sliders. if its so realistic.
Idk bro I've been pleased with the game play of nba 2k year after year since the game made its debut 15 years ago
Just look at the ratings the game gets year after year after year
Is there bullshyt that happens every now and then? Sure, the game is not "perfect" by any means but overall I don't see how anyone can make any legitimate complaints about the overall game play
If there's something to complain about it's that the game hasn't changed much in the last few years and I would think that's because 2k sports has pretty much mastered nba basketball gaming and it also speaks to the satisfaction of the nba 2k fan base
Also, game mode and game difficulty are two different things
If you leave the game mode on default all that means is all the sliders are left on 50
Simulation mode adjusts the sliders for you to create realistic game play
I don't like adjusting my own sliders so I always choose simulation mode
Some people just like leaving them on default
I think a gamer's style of play also has a lot to do with it
Me I just play freestyle, run and gun basketball
I don't run plays but I'll run an occasional pick and role when my offense gets stagnant in the half court
If you're the type of player that likes to run plays in the half court set then maybe there's more that can go wrong idk
