Have to give Netflix props on this one. Very entertaining show. Kevin Spacey is perfect in the role (after Casino Jack he does seem like a natural for the role). Looks like he's also exec producer.

One thing I really like about this show is it gives the women real story lines. Kevin's Wife is a beast who works just as hard as him. The scene where she attempts to give the dying security guard a hand job was just :ohhh:. She tells him the reason why Spacey got her was he took what he wanted and that she is not the type of women who just wants to cuddle. Deep down, however, Spacey is so into his work, she feels neglected and fights herself cheating with the photographer.

Kate Mara is the ambitious young reporter who gets involved with Spacey in order to get exclusive stories. She is also attracted to being around the power of a congressman. "Dana Gordons" character tells her to be careful messing around by giving her examples of her own career. The scene where Kate and Spacey go at it is classic. Kate tries to moralize Spacey by saying "don't you feel disgusted that I'm half your age". Spacey hits back by saying you already agreed this wasn't an issue and doesn't show weakness. This is a scene where dudes usually bytch up in real life (not just this issue but when being moralized), but Spacey holds his ground here.

Only through 8 episodes so far, but this has been a great surprise

saw the first ep last night and its cool. I'm sure kevin spacey is getting an emmy from this. When he was asking that other congressman to give him his full loyalty he looked like he was about to do something demonic :merchant:-

- wish they had more racial diversity outside of that spanish chick who they basically called her out on being the token :heh:

Coli's sleeping on this. On episode 6 and this shyt is piff. If anyone likes dramas and politics it's a must-check. This dude Kevin Spacey sometimes sounds like the devil himself. :damn:

It's going to be an epic battle between him and my man Heisenberg for the Emmys next year.

Damn good show, Its tough to make a show about politics interesting but they they managed to do it. I'm on episode 10 so I'm already getting sad cause I know its about to end soon. If Nextflix can add more shows with the quality of this one. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with. I wonder how well it would have done on Cable

Anybody have any news about season 2?

Probably my favorite aspect of this show is how Kevin Spacey and his wife seem like genuinely nice people. So kind and hospitable. But their hidden actions are vicious. Which probably how most politicians are. Def. Kevin kills it. And Kate Mora. Though I would not be surprised if they develop a Carrie/Brody relationship (though it's probably unlikely).

Overall, I feel the same way like most of these shows (i.e. Breaking Bad Season 1, Homeland season 2, 24 last season, Luther all seasons). Great last 3-4 shows. Have you wanting more but overall not great. Great to me is when the whole season interesting (i.e. Homeland Season 1, 24 Season 5). It's like the same formula, cruise control with some peaks, then go ham the last quarter of the season.

But how Spacey character planned all of that was dope. I figured out some of it but not all of it. I wished he had a different wife though. One that was attractive and not just old looking. Heck in real life, she 46!!! She looks like she in her late 50's at least on the show. I would rather that Indian chick be his wife then her.

It really didn't disappoint, great characters and plot.

I'm checking out the original next also called house of cards it was done by BBC in 1990.
It's a little dry but if you're into English films you should enjoy.

Finished the season yesterday. Really great show. Spacey kills it as expected. Wasn't sure how I felt when I first saw him break the fourth wall first episode but you get pretty used to it and even look forward to it some scenes. I could tell at the beginning of the specific scene what would happen to Pete, but I never saw it going there initially. Though the very first scene of the series kind of foreshadows it. And the show is shot beautifully.

I'm about to go ahead and watch this right now. Kevin Spacey is one of my favorite actors to watch. I honestly haven't seen him play one bad movie role yet. I admit I've been holding out on watching this as I'm not too much into political drama but from the way you guys are describing this, this show is too good to pass up.

Just finished this. Felt bad for Peter. :sadbron:

Can't see Underwood getting got by the trio of Zoe, Dana Gordon and Lucas. Two of em got on by whoring, and only Lucas seems to have any actual skills as a journalist. I can't wait for season 2.
