Damn bruhs and sisters, this Soulful House culture is freedom for me. Went to another great party tonight. The DJ who basically brought House music into my life via his radio back in the days on Morgan State Radio, DJ Oji was spinning. And he killed it, even tho the hating assss gentrifying fukkkas try to shut it down, talking bout the music was too loud(it was a rooftop thing).

You move into a hood with nothing but bars and a university right there. What the fukk you expect? Police made them turn the music down. But that didnt stop us from getting down and enjoying ourselves.

Love the people who are part off the scene. So many beautiful Sisters and Brothers.

In my hood (Newark & East Orange) a lot of the young Jersey Club producers are switching over to House production and it's a beautiful thing to watch...Im loving the creativity im seeing from these guys/girls...Everybody is pushing to bring club Zanzibar back too...Im a young dude so I didnt get to experience Zanzibar but the way the older heads in my family talk about it, it mustve felt like absolute euphoria being up in there

Thats good to see, need more young talent in the culture.

Thats what really hurt Soulful House in this country after a certain period. There weren't any young producers and dj's coming through. It seems like this music just didnt reach the late 80's and later babies. Its still pretty much the heads who were doing it in the 90's/80's still carrying the torch. So the music got stale for a while.

The South Africans really saved this music and brought some freshness back into it.

Hopefully we get some more young Brothers and Sisters in this scene.

In Jersey, for the longest its been: Jersey Club for the youngins and House music for the oldheads...Now the lines are starting to get blurred and you see more oldheads embracing Jersey Club and younger people bumping House music and experimenting with it

overall though, I think you'll see more and more young people come to the scene as time goes on...you have groups like Disclosure making House cool with the younger crowd again..you got the house shufflers in the UK doing the same with thier movement...South Africa constantly innovating and pushing the culture forward...NY, NJ, SF, DC, the Chi, TO, MTL and these other smaller pockets keeping things alive...there's a lot of dope things going on in the scene right now...I think we're headed in the right direction
