Any Larry Heard/Mr Fingers people in here??

Growing up in East Orange and Newark, New Jersey I always had House Music around me but when I heard this joint by Mr. Fingers the whole game switched up for me. I literally fell in love with the music after that.

I started digging deeper into Larry Heard's catalog and got introduced to joints like these

And more obscure joints like this

Larry Heard has tons of joints out there under different aliases. If you have Spotify a lot of his stuff is on there.

Yeah, he uses aliases and you have to know your shyt or you'll miss out..Kerry Chandler uses aliases as well.
Larry Heard productions go back to the mid 80s if Im not mistaken, and its been pure heat since.

I loved his Introduction album under the Mr Fingers name.

Kerri Chandler is another one with a bunch of aliases. I'm not sure who has more between him, Larry Heard and Moodymann, lol. Kerri is from my city too but yea Larry has techno sounding stuff, ambient tracks, deep house, minimal etc. I've even heard some of the Hip-Hop shyt he did and that was pretty dope too :ehh:If you ever get a chance check out his Redbull Music Academy lecture. He goes deep into his history and gives the story behind some of his more well known tracks.

His obscure remixes are dope as well..he has a funny quote about how strong families are in the south, like how they'll sell dope together as a family and not as individuals like out east or something. I will check it out..

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Tune of the week comes to you courtesy of Jimmy Jizz Apparel and Secret Clinical Strength (for those... not so fresh days).

The beauty of this track is not just in the melody and the heavy drums... but the sample that's just as eerie as it is salaciously melodic (i swear, this could be flipped into a nice hiphop track).

Have this in the whip and it's a really solid early 2000's "pure" house track when, in my opinion, was as creative, illustrious and refined as it has ever been (again, i'm going to stress it as my subjective view... from 1999-2007 was the platinum age for house).

And this funky groove surely epitomizes that era.

(if you have some scissors and want to cut to the chase, the sample hits at the 4 minute mark... it's a thang of walking angels and endless fantasy).

Was thinking earlier today that Obama is probably one of the first house fans.

He moved to Chicago in 1985 to become a community organizer and that's around the time House really blew up in Chicago.

He was a Frankie Knuckles fan too

It's very possible he was at some of the earliest House parties :manny:
