And at long last...SOUL CHIPS #3!
Deee Lite was known for one song and only one song (it's the first thing that comes to all of our minds - which has unfortunately been synonymous with the band). And at that... their lone singular hit, "Groove Is In The Heart, is a dance floor anthem/staple we've all come to know, love (and grow weary of. Lol). But that's actually a travesty in my eyes.
But being the disco aficionado that i am, i've always been a big fan but it wasn't until recently that i came across their 3 lp's.
Although their breakup came during the height of their career (posing personal and creative differences), i found their albums to be a delight (you get some funk, some soul, some drum and step, etc. But its their signature "house" grooves that define their personae... and these tracks are no slumpers). Eccentrically eclectic is the best way to describe their sound and image... its a shame the labels didn't push this electronic version of De La.
