Hmmm... i see what homedude was sayin', but categorizing deep/disco/souful house as EDM just cheapens it.
I can't really describe it because there's a feeling you get when you listen to it, to which, isn't identical when you're listening to that fist pumping stuff they play at EDC and raves.
When you listen to true house music, you don't wanna go grab a gawt damn glow stick, swallow a dozen molly ringwalds and jump until your cankles blow out...
House, in its purest form is about unwinding, letting yourself relax and fall into a deep state of enchantment and just letting the rhythm flow as the melody, strings, percussions and basslines percolate your internal atmosphere and heals your spirit.
For instance, it's 7:01 pacific seattle time and i got this bottle of chardonay open, i got pot roast cooking, the candles are lit, and i just got paid... this is all being done to the soundtrack of...

I love this record. I will admit though, I liked to dj around 115-130 BPM so I'd pitch this one down -4 on the techs when I would be mixing it in sets back then.
