so the only way he could win was by not showing up? As if that would have helped

Just finding new excuses to not wanna even give Macklemore any sort of credit either way. Y'all are miserable.
and you say I complain a lot.:beli:

you do this EVERY single year. you complain about other people complaining. I never understood why people do this.

"I remember one year, we went there when [Big] Pun was nominated for a Grammy," Joe said. "And when we got there, we walked the red carpet with the suits and everything and we didn't even hear the category. They were like, 'They announced it earlier; they had a winner.' I don't think they acknowledge hip-hop for being the true art form that it is."

"I did go when I was nominated for a Grammy in '96," Nas said, "just to see what it was like. I didn't expect to win, but I had to go because the environment was real serious, so I went to see what that was like. After you do it you get it out of your system. You keep it moving. If I would've won that day, I'd still feel the same right now. I'm cool. I support the people who boycott because to turn my back on them wouldn't be right either. I wouldn't do it, 'cause I don't feel the need to even give them that much attention."

I think the funniest thing is that y'all tryna downplay the Grammy's now, but this nikka Kendrick put on his Sunday's best to be in that bytch to hang out with the same CACs y'all in here tryna talk down on now that they didn't give him an award. That nikka is not no pro-black nikka so all this talk about race and shyt is stupid.

THe reality is, y'all AND Kendrick got hyped up at the prospect of large-scale white approval via the Grammy's. Jay only showed because the paid him to perform and prob told him he was winning something. Drake said FDB. Kanye said FDB (and this even with him being a serious contender for the Best Rap Album award and definitely could have performed if he wanted to). Lil dumb ass Kendrick was up in that bytch all giddy like it was nothing.

Stop acting like that nikka is just some symbolism for blackness. He lookin' for that white approval just like anyone else and he's not special. :camby:

Dude had a black ass hood song covered by a suburban white boy rock band and y'all still talkin' about "blackness" when it comes to him. He sold out right then and there. Prob thought doin' that shyt was gonna score him some points with the committee so he could get an award. :laff:

It's not even about "white" approval. Its about recognition for a masterful piece of art.

If it was about approval from black folks then the BET Awards or the Source awards woulda been our Grammys, but it isnt. I would argue that the BET, NAACP and the ilk are just as rigged as the Grammys. People aren't digging in the crates for real rappers, or digging online. These awards are just about who's hot or who's elite. If Pitchfork was in charge of the grammys you nikkas would be sick of Kanye winning, talking about how Yeezus wasn't better than other albums.

No matter what there will be debate, the issue that most black folks have with Macklemore and other whites when it comes to Hip-Hop is that they don't see or won't address the fact that IT IS rigged. So I applaud Macklemore for the message, but i think it woulda had more impact if Kendrick himself woulda posted it...cuz right now it just looks like white guilt.

That is one issue that I agree you on. By 2100 AD, they will only make up 1% of the population

what's crazy, whites are already a minority, yet they control so many resources. we both know they aren't going to go down without a fight. but the shyt is inevitable. they are going to lose, and there's nothing they can do about it.
