Q. The closest thing to Grand Theft Auto I can think of that someone is doing in a different medium is the work of David Simon, who has tried to capture cities, in “The Wire” but even more so in “Treme.” It’s quite different, but TV is similar in the sense that people spend 30, 40 hours with a show.

A. I haven’t seen “Treme.” I never even saw “The Wire.” One of my weird disciplines is that I don’t really watch a lot of those shows, if they relate to what we do. I only watched a tiny bit of “The Sopranos.” No “Boardwalk Empire.” No “Breaking Bad.” Wherever it’s too close to crime, gangster, underbelly fiction, and it’s supercontemporary, I decided, for professional reasons, I have to avoid it.

Game Makes Huge "Grand Theft Auto 5" Announcement

thegame.jpg

Game has revealed that he has done "a little bit of work with" Rockstar Games on Grand Theft Auto 5, presumably to reprise his role as GTA: San Andreas character Mark "B-Dup" Wayne.
"They [Rockstar] called man, and we did a little bit of work with them," The Game told Wired 96.5, before referencing San Andreas' B-Dup.
"Once you in a video game, you struck gold, man."
The reappearance of B-Dup in GTA 5 would make sense, of course. GTA 5 is set in the fictional city of Los Santos and the "surrounding areas" within the state of San Andreas.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that GTA 5's lead character is an "East Coast Gangster" who has moved to Los Santos "for a fresh start".

did people actually read the article before they posted here? :wtf:

the actual map won't be bigger than san andreas, IV and red dead redemption combined. They said the total space including inside buildings and 5's outside map was bigger than those 3 games combined

bein given the ability to switch characters mid-mission is so you'll be able to stick with the action constantly because each character has different jobs and will be at different places at different times. So if franklin is breaking into a bank vault...michael might be about to have a shoot out with cops, so it gives you the ability to decide what you'd rather do. It adds alot of replay value to the game but I dunno, it gives way too many options in my opinion and I think I may end up thinking i'm not getting the best scenario out of the mission all the time

I highly doubt there'll be young kids in the game. Remember, they mentioned Michael's kids are in there early 20's so i doubt you'll see toddlers running about. Still too controversial imo

:comeon: clearly not, because most people in this thread keep acting like the actual map is going to be that big. For all we know, the map could be the same walking size of red dead redemptions and there just be loads of buildings that we can go into

Nope... People understood what the article said... Atleast I did. But if you want to feel like you "taught everyone something" :manny:

and I highly doubt it is going to be the size of Red Dead redemption...

You really expect to have interiors with a combined space greater than GTA 4 and GTA SA? Not to mention all of the games mentioned have interiors themselves, so how do we know that those interiors aren't being accounted for in the size of those games as well as GTA 5?
