Welln if u don't have the latest firmware flash to your Xbox DVD drive u won't be able to play any new games regardless of discs. But truncate method is inconsistent as fukk. Regardless of online play or not,u might not be able to get a good burn. As for dvd's, I wouldn't go any route except verbatim. And old games (xdg2) will burn OK on other DVDs for the most part. But modern games (xdg3) need verbatim. I burned fall of Cybertron on a Memorex DVD and it worked for 15 mins then wouldn't read. Got verbatim and burned it and it works flawlessly. They also say Memorex can shorten your laser life
