I'm seeing Obarth's name a lot in this thread. I could have sworn that he spoke about "RV" and elaborated on another character that begins with a 'D' who was mentioned by name only. That's why he was sent to the wall.
No to mention that a geographical location is mentioned multiple times by some of these offenders. They even went as far as to post a map of the location. Signifying it's importance in this season or season 4.

if you actually watch this show then you would know how many times dorne has been mentioned already. Dornish wine, dornish girls, myrcella baratheon being sent off to dorne for a new alliance by tyrion in season 2, cersei getting mad saying the dornish hate them etc.So really, I also see no problem with mentioning dorne and their arrival in the series.

Bullshyt. Tiny seemingly insignificant pieces of information when joined with other information we see could ruin the show for us. I'd rather enjoy the show with only the information the writer gives me.
For those of us who are going into the show blind...we were not expecting the Dornish to play an important role in the upcoming season. Now WE KNOW THEY DO.
Simply knowing that they are coming could tip me off to story lines that they might be involved in. Kind of like when someone ruined the final battle last season by
mentioning that Tywin Lannister would be in the kings court after the battle somehow. which basically gave away the ending by letting me know the kingdom wouldn't fall after the battle and that Tywin was in town and would most likely come in and save the day
The defense that you posted above (a few random mentions in 2 seasons) was not enough for me to infer that they were coming. I've watched Season 1 and 2 TWICE and I still wasn't expecting or waiting to see the Dornish. None of it was enough to tip me off to seeing them this season. NOW I KNOW they play a role and I'm expecting them before the writers intended me to.
I want to watch the show how the writers intended me to. THE TELEVISION WRITERS. NOT THE BOOK that its based on. I appreciate the source material. I'm sure that it's great. I will read them some day. But unless someone on the HBO show says "THE DORNISH ARE COMING" I don't want to fukking know about it.

To the BOOK Breh's defending their decisions....allow me to show you how your "hints" are fukking up the show for the rest of us. I'm going to drop some Math on you.
Have you ever tried to solve an equation consisting of 2 UNKOWN variables as such....
Your only hint is the 432 that the writer of the equation INTENDED to give you. It's pretty hard to do it in your head. But we have just enough to plug in different numbers and work things out. It's a challenge. But it's a good challenge.
Now let me see if I can help you out by spoiling it a little with a hint....
Now that I have a hint. In the form of a variable. What does B equal? I should be able to figure it out in my head or on a calculator pretty quickly. I only have one number to plug in now. I know what to expect. As soon as I see that B number I immediately recognize it, I see it for what it is since I have A filled in for me.
Example 1: Where non-book readers want to be. Using only what the writer of the equation (show) gives us to solve it
Example 2: Where book readers are taking us with their "hints" or "obvious information". When you combine that with the little hints the show writers give us. It answers entire story lines and fukks the show up for us.
STOP FILLING IN THE VARIABLES FOR US.
I really had to take it to "P vs NP" on ya'll for you to get it.

It IS hard not to stumble across spoilers when the book came out thirteen years ago though, so I see your point but I'd suggest you just do yourself a favor and read the books. Because being paranoid like that for the next what, 7-8 years ain't gonna be good for your health
I plan on reading/listening to Book 1 and some of 2. I bought them. I also copped the books on tape. I got the books on tape by ill-gotten means.

At this point I just don't want to ruin the show for myself.
The anticipation, the cliff hangers, the soul burning for 6 days, wanting it to pass as quickly as possible!
