I know Sporting won in the end but the first 30mins were lucky to still be in the game. It looked very similar when Citeh smashed them 5-0 a couple seasons prior. They were 4 up at half time.
You hit the nail on the head the first time around months ago when you said he needs to learn to adapt to the Prem. The Prem has already adapted to him which isn't a good sign.
let's say that there are managers out there who have the right mix of players + the tactics to always beat amorim's 3-4-3, by his own words amorim would refuse to adapt and simply let the team lose.
every team has to adapt to some extent unless the manager believes that his players + his setup will beat all comers by just playing their way.
this was not true of sporting in europe, so is unlikely to be true in the prem.
he says he doesn't want to adapt, but a critical question is, does he even know what he has to do to adapt?
we have given him 1 ready-to-go player so far. give him another two first team players and if there is no improvement, or if they start to flounder preh has to go.
at some point he has to be responsible for results.
it's amazing how people can get taken in by fancy patter.
i have yet to see amorim talk in depth tactics yet.
not once.
have you ever seen him break down a passage of play or talk in technical detail about something which happened on the field.
tha is why he is on parole / fraud watch for me.
along with ineos.
