When I say creating chances, I mean down to his movement and positions he’s getting into rather than in a Bobby sense. I mean part of why the misses are so numerous is the amount of chances he gets, his first 2 seasons he was averaging almost 5 shots/90, like I don’t think nikkas realize how difficult and elite that is, that’s almost halved this season due to what he’s being asked to do.
Look he cost a lot of money, especially for us with how stingy FSG are and ultimately he does need to score more there’s no 2 ways about it. What he’s good at you can’t teach and is hard to find, yes some misses have been egregious but I think he’s had some real bad luck, I’ve never seen somebody hit the woodwork like he has. Mental and staying calm is his biggest issue rather than ability which he’s shown is there imo and I do think that can be worked on and I do think that strikers of his profile take a little longer for it to all click a la Drogba.
Again he does have to start scoring more, I can give him the first season in the league, I think how well Haaland came in obviously makes it look worse. I would say first half of last season he was our best player and the whole team fell off second half
and he’s being asked to do something different this season, which I think he’s done very well but again end of the day he has to score more I’m not denying that.He’s one of the first names on the teamsheet for me I want him playing as much as possible and it’s always disappointing when he’s not starting because he affects the game and is a nightmare for defenders and works his ass off
even when not scoring. He’s come up clutch plenty, Newcastle, Brentford, Forest, Bournemouth in the cup off the top of my head, so yea when it’s crunch time I want that nikka on the pitch.I don’t think we’ve ever really played or setup in a way to get the best out of him, I don’t think that will ever happen while Momo is here and I don’t disagree with that. I think it’s also probably a fair argument if nikkas say well what has he shown for us to do that but I would disagree and think he can be that guy if/when we start to do that
