Because if the deflection changes the complete trajectory of the ball towards the goal and it was going off target, it’s an own goal. If the ball was already going in the direction of going towards the goal even with a deflection, it’s not considered an own goal.

I guess Gabi's header wasn't on target until the deflection. Son was.
