To my UK heads, I understand United and Pool the biggest clubs in England and are akin to Real and Barca to an extent in terms on prestige.

However, I don’t think the two clubs have ever challenged for title at the same time. Definitely not in my lifetime (Prem era).

With Real and Barca in the 2010s it was generally the two of them challenging for the title with a sprinkle of Atletico.

If there was an era where United and Pool actually when 1-2 for the title, would be interested to know…
