if partey stays out of jail Arsenal is the 3rd best team in PL…and we’re close to Liverpool :yeshrug:
We are better than Liverpool…if we didn’t have EL we would get close to 90 points

Everton is a free hit job. It has too many problems beyond changing the coach. Keeping Everton up last season gives Lumps another look off that.

Gerrard teams are too inconsistent within the game themselves. 1 great half 1 shyt in 90 and they don't know how to put games away. Villa is like a really poor man's attempt of replicating Klopps Liverpool.
Sure Everton job is a death sentence but having two high profile failures back to back is not a good look at all. But I'm sure his name will get him another guaranteed-promotion Championship job :manny: Gerrard's case is funny because of all the hype he received last season only for media to go radio silent as Villa slid down to 14th.

I am a big advocate for giving young managers a chance instead of just recycling same 5 managers over and over again. At some point it felt like it was just a Steve Bruce, Big Sam, Harry Redknapp, Martin O'Neill merry-go-round.

But you would think clubs spending 150m on transfers would invest more in their managerial hiring.

Anthony reaching peak Nani levels will be a huge win for United.

Antony has got everything it takes to miles better than Nani

I think he will be a bit hit and miss, like Nani. And the team needs more dynamic grafters who can track back. We need a fast midfielder (B2B) grafter more than we need anthony and he is not worth anything close to 100mil. Like Nani his best attribute is progressing the ball forwards and like Nani his lack of a top weapon blunts his effectiveness. For 100mil you want an assortment of world class crossing, shooting, passing long/short, through balls, decision making, hold up play, stamina, tracking, positioning, heading. He is a slightly more dynamic and expansive grealish. The opposite of less-rounded but world-class-attribute having players like beckham, bale, kante, haaland, younger cr7 (whose effectiveness elevates them into that 100m class)

For 100mil we should buy two grafters - a CM and an attacker and play three traditional CMs in midfield. Even with Casimiro the team will be too open. Casimiro is not that fast and his physical advantage is less in the prem.

Fred might be able to fill that role (like with Brazil) but in the prem his physicality and ball retention have not been good enough for a possession based team.
