I think it's fatigue. It's only his second start all season. It's tough to look fast in a football match, especially CL level, when you aren't completely match fit. Sprint a few times and your legs are gone.

I know this sounds silly but there are some strikers who can't hit a dead ball. Sanogo doesn't look like a pen taker and neither does Mandzukic.

My biggest fear in the Champions League final was Torres would take one. Imagine that...being shook your 50m striker will take a penalty.
