A goal is a goal, an away goal is effectively a 2nd goal when things are level, that’s criminal in a sport where 1 goal can win a cup final.
But I’d be lying if I said the away goals rule adds a little something else to the tie.
But honestly, let’s get it gone. Ghana over doesn’t qualify for 2022 WC at the expense of Nigeria if not for the away goals rule
It’s something I’ve been debating as well. On one hand, I get it. 3-3 on aggregate is a stalemate, the fact that one team scored 2 away goals should not be enough to see them go through.is it me or did scrapping the away goal rule take away some of the CL aura
