I dont know much about your team. But do you guys needs a clogger?

I don't watch Madrid like that tbh so I can't speak on his current form but I followed him a bit in France and was impressed. And he's still relatively young + no serious injuries.

Don't consider him to be a clogger at all. Think he'd do well in England.

I remember that year when Jorginho was getting Ballon d'or shouts

Felt like I was living in the twilight zone

Good friend of mine is a life long Sporting fan and a journalist in Lisbon and he’s a huge fan of Amorim. He’s also been absolutely correct on who will be a hit or miss from big transfers from Portugal recently (ie. Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Joao Neves being hits whilst Ugarte, Ramos, Veira being misses). Not biased at all, very fair, I remember he always said Bruno Fernandes is not a player that can win you trophies despite Bruno being a hero at Sporting.

One thing he’s said about Amorim is that he is a more modern early Mourinho. In play style and approach - definitely a players coach and has the ability to have his team fight FOR him. Said Amorim is the most talented coach in Portugal since 2004 Mourinho.

* Only player assessment I can remember him being wrong on is Renato Sanches. He will die on that hill. To this day he says Renato is the most talented Portuguese midfielder since Deco IF he could have avoided his hamstring and muscle injuries like he did in Lille’s title winning season. Always said Renato could have become Yaya Toure 2.0.
