Martinez was linked to United back in May, but talks heated up once LVG deaded the Timber move. And like @Kunty McPhuck says actual journalist reported on it on June 20th. Only other defender ever seriously rumored was Pau Torres but ETH will always go for his former player.

ETH said he doesn't have the lungs for it. Probably might be used like Daley Blind was, as a utility player to cover LB, CB and CDM maybe.

He won’t take riding the bench lightly. He wasnt great playing on the wing for Brazil in qualifiers, he had a couple runabouts and he was pretty poor, lacked discipline really. Maybe he could improve in that position though, the NT would certainly enjoy that
