MARTIN SAMUEL: How many must die in Africa before football gets its act together? | Daily Mail Online

They couldn't wait for something to happen in order to try and invalidate the tournament

He isn't just talking about what happened the other day tho is he. That 3 different major incidents that have happened over the last 12 years (7 tournaments). Surely the question was going to be asked at some point? No? Or shall people forget about it and wait till the tournament finishes before questions are asked? Or the fact that the first tournament under the CAF President's reign had fans die under his watch. You know something that will be held against him in future elections for the position. Or that he admit that they should of foreseen this kinda incident beforehand. Or that CAF trying to pin the death on a poor soul even tho CAF had a concerns about the stadium and that very part of the stadium fence months earlier. So yu don't really think CAF should get any blame because you are enjoying the tournament? After all AFCON is the only chance Africa gets to show the world that the continent can hold major sporting tournaments/events outside of South Africa but the powers that be are letting everyone else down. End of the day AFCON is their baby and CAF didn't do their risk assessment/management properly and people died.

He's a dikkhead

It's almost as if there wasn't -

* The absolute shytshow in the Euro Finals. "Stampedes" everywhere (cute choice of words). A lucky miss in terms of no serious injury or fatalities

* A terror attack on the Dortmund team bus

* Racism at every turn.

* Countless attacks on team buses throughout Europe by opposing fans.

* Players getting objects thrown at them every weekend by fans.

* The return of hooliganism which is rarely being mentioned

European football needs to get its act together

Liverpool hijacking Tottenham's Luiz Diaz deal?

Barcelona taking back Ardama Traore?

They must've promised Conte a Summer rebuild, otherwise he's out of there..:picard:

And Man Utd ain't any better, but we knew that already.:unimpressed:
