Germany has a strong domestic league so they have less need to export their players overseas.
Portugal is definitely a good case, as is France

Bundesliga is well run, but isn't a strong domestic league like that. You have 1 team that casts a shadow over everyone else and then cherry picks all the other teams with in the league best players to weaken them.

The best/key Germany players are generally either at Bayern or play outside of Germany. This has always been the case, going back the 80's.

God given talent Donovan > Dempsey

Dempsey had the better career hands down. Never took the easy route like Donovan and went out and earned his job in Fulham. Only came back to the MLS when he was in his 30's and he'd done pretty much everything he could in Europe.

With that said both guys actually stepped up when it came time for the World Cup.

16 million is huge money for a club like us so I’d be delighted with that provided we actually spent it.

Have to remember our record sale is only 12 million and we’ve only gotten more that 10 for a player like 4 times and only spent more than 4 million about 5 or 6 times.
