The match ups have been decided for the Champions League: Barcelona vs Bayern; Juventus vs Real Madrid. Bayern looked really strong against Porto but I can't see them beating Barcelona as the team is coming together at right time. The trio of Messi, Neymar Jr., and Suarez will be too much. On the flip side, the Juventus vs. Real Madrid could go either way. Real Madrid has several players with some injuries so I wonder if they will be able to defend well as Juventus has a really solid offensive attack from what I've seen. Of course, the X-Factor will be Ronaldo. He's become a better facilitator for his team but his defense is a bit shaky at times. Still, I look for him to be in attack mode against this team.

Juventus beats Real Madrid (who haven't looked right all season). Bayern beats Barcelona; that 5-1 victory will instill a new fire in that squad.

I can see Bayern beating Barcelona as Muller is a damn beast. He could probably net 3-4 goals on his own. I just think that Barcelona is a more complete team than Bayern. Barcelona just has too much offensive fire power and their defense is really good. I think that Messi will have a huge impact on this game. Bayern won't have as much opportunities to score on Bareclona as they had on Porto.

I think the key for Real Madrid to beat Juventus is to be in attack mode. Hopefully, Bale will comeback as his speed is invaluable to the Real Madrid attack.

1. the Bayern-Barcelona game really comes down to Bayern's defense. If Bayern's defense holds up, they eventually win. Otherwise I can see Barcelona beating Bayern. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Bayern will come out attacking from jump. Bayern's midfield is gonna have to stifle Messi also. It's certainly a tall task but not impossible.

2. Real's form this season has ranged from inconsistent to dreadful. It depends on which Bale shows up and whether Ancelotti gets his tactics correct. Cristiano by himself will always keep Real in the game but that Juve midfield :ohlawd:

Bayern's defense is good but I just don't see them being able to stop Messi, Neymar Jr. and Suarez at the same time. This team has become a lot less reliant on Messi for offense which is great as Neymar Jr. and Suarez have been doing a lot of scoring these past few games. Also, Iniesta has some serious speed and is able to make some great passes. The one pass he did to Neymar Jr. against Paris SG was brilliant. Bayern's defense is going to have to be A+ to stand a chance and to have Muller score some goals, which he is well capable of doing.

If Real Madrid plays like they did against Granada, man....but yeah, you never know what you'll get from this team although they did have a 22 game win streak so if they are firing on all cylinders, then it's going to be lights out for Juve.

Barcelona has shown the ability to play on the counter compared to previous years. They destroyed Atletico on the counter and don't mind ceding possession. If Bayern plays a high line without proper defensive midfielders they will suffer because Barca are no longer a midfield based team given their front 3. Real can be vulnerable without Modric in the team but Isco has improved his defensive side of the game to be able to slot in to a central midfield role. I can see this one being potentially a low scoring encounter if we do not get an early goal.

I hope Bayern doesn't play a high line but employs a defensive midfield. That high-line defense is a dangerous game to play when you have Suarez, Neymar, and Messi who are all able to find space. Keeping a decent line but studding the midfield will be the way for Bayern to go, in my opinion.
