Atletico Madrid may have ended their 18-year wait to win La Liga but they were not allowed to lift the trophy because the head of the Spanish FA was 'travelling'.

It was revealed before the game by Antena 3TV that Angel Maria Villar was 'away' and therefore could not present the victorious team with the trophy.

Now Atletico will have to wait until the first day of next season to be presented with their prize.

If they win the Champions League next Saturday then they may put on a 'doblete' (double) victory parade with only one trophy.
