I'm reading his book right now.
Hum, I would agree with the quote only if he had stated that the nothing-doer is aware of the consequence and meaning of his nothing-doing. Otherwise, it's just selfish behaviour. IMO, courage only exists with the awareness of risks to face or responsibility to bear otherwise it's not bravery but simply selfishness.

hmm I see. Does doing nothing have any sort of grave consequences? Questionable. I don't understand why someone would have to justify their inactivity to anyone. And I actually get upset about that in real life. I meet a lot of people who are passive about a lot of things and just don't care, they don't share my indignation with slights perceived or unfairness that we see so much in this world, and I ask people why they don't care, but I realized they don't owe me anything, so you just gotta let it go.

And I'm not saying I agree with the initial quote. It's just so rare that someone puts it so eloquently.

Im really not sure a boycott would have done anything and been right.

The real power is the fans. We need to make a statement not just to the Clippers, but the NBA. Sterling been a racist and has made racist statements for years, and no one said anything and the NBA did not sanction him. Fans need to man up, but we wont.

In saying that, warm-up shirts inside out was :camby:
Yeah man, can't imagine what it's like having a racist embarrass the club :sas2:

CP3 and co. knew what they signed up for when they went to the Clippers. This protest is like when an abused wife comes to work with a black eye and her co-workers force her to press charges.....only for her to drop the later.

But I don't think a boycott was a feasible option. I think they just have to wait and see what Silver is gonna do.

Depends on the situation I guess. Inactivity does lead to grave consequences when lives are at stake. Status quo can't stop anything, so a bad thing happening will continue to happen if nothing is done, so imagine your neighbour is beating his wife, frequently ; as many women die from beatings from their husbands in the world today, courage would not be to do nothing but to act up. There, you'd have to justify your inactivity, legally and morally speaking, as you're a witness of a crime and as a fellow human.

Obviously, the Clippers stuff is not that grave but it's just that it's morally unacceptable from my point of view for them not to do anything. I mean, I live in the land of strikes and I've witnessed people with shytty ass revenues go on strike (and not getting paid) because it was the moral thing to do but I guess money ease the pain for the Clippers players. Though we could agree that it's the case, otherwise, why would some judgements require to give a victim some compensation. A raise for the Clips !
