Exactly. We have Hojlund and Zirkzee and both are trash. We're expecting to worry defenses with them as our attacking threat. And neither were dirt cheap either

Once they never replaced Kessie, Tomori became exposed at the back. Remember Kessie would cover for Theo when he went gallivanting forward which protected Tomori from basically having to cover the whole LHS of the defence in transitions. And with baldy continuing to play a high line which teams worked out how to play against that didnt help him. With Tomori being overly aggressive with his pressing he would leave gaps instead of dropping off. Ideally you want him to be the sweeper with his recovery pace instead of the stopper who plays the forward more physically and goes for the high ball duels but he was doing that role. Also him being aggressive defender he also does too many rash fouls many of the time overcompensating for being out of position on the first place. (Like when he got sent off vs Chelsea at the San Siro) Another thing doesn't help Tomori is that with him being on the short side for a CB he's isn't the best at defensive headers from setpieces and crosses which require standing start jumps or back peddling.He's really good at attacking headers from our corners because it allows him to get momentum to run onto the ball. Tomori hasn't been in good form for a while now (he isn't the only one from the Scudetto winning team that hasnt kicked on it just isnt him but he also hasnt been helped and his decline isnt all on him) So with him being on the bench for 7 of the last 12 games I think it's obvious Fonseca doesnt rate him. So now they view him as the sellable asset they can cash in on to improve the team.
