I'm not putting a negative spin but palace were really poor today. It was easy for us to play a high line against Benteke and Zaha was too deep. Their passing into the final 3rd was shocking. Their only opportunities were from set pieces really.
The game would be loooked at different if Ayew wasn't trash as he probably missed the best chance in the match.
United played well mostly in the first half. Lots of passes. A bit more than usual which was good and gives the control RR likes. There was a lot of moments were the front 3 didn't click and not helped by Bruno's erratic passing. I don't trust McTom and Maguire against good teams. Dalot did quite well. Played on the front foot a lot.

If we can get a good midfielder in Jan i would but we need 2 midfielders next summer.
It was far from perfect but I think you have to give us credit, we made their passing in to the final 3rd look bad by actually crowding and putting the receiver under pressure.

I agree. Our pressing forced those errors though. Maguire can't play in a highline. Wonder how he'll handle Bruno since he was as erratic as ever today. If Pogba was in his position he would've done much better imo.

Ralf has only really been with these players for 1 day, we'll see what happens against Young Boys and Norwich.

A lot better positionally as a unit.

Players were proactive in winning the ball back when the ball went to Palace’s forwards, they had no time to turn/no space, which allowed us to sustain attacks, which is all in line with having a more compact shape and there being less ground to cover.

A long way to go in terms of attacking patterns of play(Sancho is going to eat once players start running off him when he’s in pockets of space).

One word to describe it was probs Ralfs most word used so far: Control. We were in control with and without the ball.

By the sounds of it and from what I've seen of United this season. Everyone who had a hand in keeping Ole in his job needs to be taken out back and :bustback:

Was Sancho playing in the half spaces more today than he had done at any other point in his United career so far?

How was C dots pressing :lolbron:

Which is total nonsense when you control the game and are in the opps half majority of the game you don't need to press that much and if you do the ground coverage shouldn't be that much space 5-10 yards at best vs 15-20+ yards it was earlier on in the campaign

Ronaldo did well, you can tell by the end of the game his legs were gone. Had a counter and phucked up a pass.

Sancho did much better when he had someone like Telles and Dalot whenever he switched flanks.

Maguire and McTominay, also possibly Rashford and Bruno if they don't buck up in the next few weeks are under surveillance.

Tbh I wouldn't worry about C dot and pressing thats the least of United's problems. Secretly C dot :blessed: with having Rangnick a coach who knows what he is doing and is all about hard work. Which C dot hasn't had for a while.

Yeah Sancho is finding his groove, just needs everyone else to get in sync.

Yeah the Ronaldo pressing thing was always overblown. In a Rangick team he’ll mostly be doing very short sprints to cut passing lanes. Ralf’s whole thing is funnelling the ball in to areas where the ball can be won, setting traps.

People for some reason thought Ronaldo pressing = Ronaldo having to constantly chase defenders/the ball across the pitch and do 50km a game. Further up the pitch you can trap the opposition the less distance you have to run.:manny:

Absolutely, I just think a better team and I don't mean the top 3 teams, would have made us pay. Obviously, its one training session with Ralf and it wont be an overnight change.
