but americans and rich arabs don't care about history. Stan kroenke moved the rams from st louis, all these other american owners own teams in leagues where teams move cities etc.

They don't care about history.

Europe is way different then America. Most sports traditions in America are maybe 50 years old unless it's baseball. America is a nation built on slavery and then immigration..

Europe you got a grandfather... father... son... and his son all lived and died in the same town and grew up on their club.

Also.. after two years of seeing the same teams and no possibility for change it will get boring.

Yes.. level of comp matters but the other part is "the dream". Same teams every year gonna destroy the dream aspect.
that wont matter. it'll be an individual thing at this point, not even about the team.

its basically field basketball now :dead:

Players gonna get fucced and they don't even realize it. These NFL owners are gonna put in a salary cap.

They don't even see it...its HILARIOUS from that aspect. In that rush to be "Best of the best" they cap their own earnings potential.

You can't play with over a hundred years of tradition in Europe. Generations grew up on watching their club have a chance to be something or pull an upset. Rivalries are organic.. they've spanned for decades..

These rivalries will consist of bandwagoners not a grandfather and father and son.. Bandwagoners are unreliable. When you price out the true fans.. you not gonna like the end result.

Its already happening with Hockey and Baseball in the states. The leagues have done a shyt job at getting the sport in-front of the youth and selling it to them. But in the case of bandwagoning, that doesn't matter enough for people. I know in Europe its different because of political/ancestral reasons. But at the end of the day bandwagoners spend LOTS of money to prove they are "real fans". The fans would need to ban Super League EN MASSE. Don't go to the matches, don't watch them, don't tweet about them, nothing. Hit them in the WALLET not the Twitter Feed.

American TEAM OWNERS don't care about history. I'm American, if you don't think a Sox or Yankees fan doesn't care about history you're bugging. Knicks fans, Lakers fans (that are from LA), Red Wings/Rangers/Bruins fans...

Real fans of ANY sport care about history.

the thing as well is say being a fan of tottenham, man city , arsenal etc. and you went to away games now the train ride to this and that, Now with brexit you're going to have to pay much more to go fly to spain this week, italy the next etc.
How is that any different than having to travel for away CL games? :mjlol:

I don't want to come across as defending this shyt cause I'm not a fan but people being overdramatic af :dead:

It depends.

NFL teams have the same exact teams every year, and revenue/viewership is through the roof.

The reason the Champions League is as watched as it is today is because of those same teams that want to create their splinter league. The same teams win every year anyway. There are no surprise packages making to the Finals either.

I think someone brought up Porto...which was almost 20 years ago now, and had world class players like Carvalho and Deco and a bunch of other players that went on to have successful careers outside of Portugal.
