Auba needs the ball at his feet. He's not great in the air so Arteta's cross-football leaving him stranded.
What he NEEDS to do is make the runs off the ball with one or two touches. With a #9 like Laca it can be done.

I think Arsenal fans too hung up on the whole crossing thing tbh. :hubie:

There isn't anything wrong with crosses. Problem being it's the connotation you need to have a big target man for that tactic to work, when its really the movement of the players in the box. Liverpool and Man City put in the most crosses last season and Top 5 for 18/19. Liverpool are also 4th for this season along with Leeds (1st) and Villa (3rd) and none of those teams have a Andy Carroll types playing up front for them either.
