That may be true but Ole has to take the blame for that midfield. He knew he had to replace Herrera and Fellaini and Pogba already said he wanted out, yet he didnt try to sign a single midfield player this last summer. He has to take the blame for the state of that squad coming into this season.

I can see Arteta because if reports were true from before Emery was appointed he was very very close to getting it, so they clearly like the idea of him.

The thing that may stop the board this time is that we as a club are in a tailspin, and they may want a more experienced coach to steady the ship.
Not the ideal situation for a manager with zero first team management to step into. Wouldn't wish it on him either.
