you think that an award, that traditionally goes to Premier League winners, but has gone to Liverpool players over 5 times, will ever be won by Raheem Sterling?
I'd love for it to happen but I know far too well of the fukkery that are the PFA awards. Even last season Sterling's stats were amazing, but Sane won Young player of the year. Or when Kyle Walker beat Aguero to young player of the year. Football awards are popularity contests and among these CACs that run these PFA awards, Sterling is persona non grata.

A campaign will emerge, and someone else will win it. Just watch who they hype on skysports around february. Hazard hasn't scored in a minute but his name is still ringing out, and now Aubamayeng is making a case. If Sterling keep up this pace though, anyone else winning would be laughable.

But media campaigns are carried out. It is what it is, the award isn't a measure of who the best player in the league is, hasn't been for a while.
It's a media/back office thing. RM has a very real possibility of not winning Copa Del Rey, UCL or La Liga. They HAD to won something this year.
But on the real I think Sterling can especially if the next WC they get to the final. Sterling is the best English player in the world and I'll stand on that.

Do you watch Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga etc. I love Raheem coz Crackers hate him. But there's not a single English player that i consider world class. That stuff bowt England reaching a WC Final is cute though.

The fringe players of today just don't measure up to prime Del Piero, Nedved, Pirlo, Batistuda, David Villa, Etoo, Drogba, Nesta, Maldini, Henry, Pires, Gerrard etc some of the football discussions and debates today one can really tell that a lot of newer football fans just have no idea. Ronaldinho 2004/5 form is not something I've seen before or since

Stats mean nothing for these awards, it almost always goes to a player of a the team thats won the CL. Been like that for years.
Coupled Fact Modric was player of the WC, he was always getting this.
