is it me or did scrapping the away goal rule take away some of the CL aura

It’s something I’ve been debating as well. On one hand, I get it. 3-3 on aggregate is a stalemate, the fact that one team scored 2 away goals should not be enough to see them go through.

A goal is a goal, an away goal is effectively a 2nd goal when things are level, that’s criminal in a sport where 1 goal can win a cup final.

But I’d be lying if I said the away goals rule adds a little something else to the tie.
