I scored it 116-112 and actually had the fight even thru 8....on top of that I had Maidana winning 4 out of the first 5 rounds.

This was a close fight, closest I've seen Floyd fight in a while....but he did what he does best. Adjusted, then dissected his opponent, counterpunched and didn't really get hit from the middle rounds on.

GOAT level defense, GOAT level counterpuncher, and GOAT accuracy...it was on display again tonight. Bottom line.
:what: GOAT? Dude looked like complete shyt tonight. WTF kind of fight where you watching?! :camby:

A past prime 35 year old Eric Morales did better against Maidiana. :russ:

Floyd landed more, cleaner punches throughout the entire fight. Floyd outlanded Marcos even though Marcos threw twice as much. Floyd is the one who made Marcos' head snap back a few times.

Exactly. I'm waiting for Marcos clean hits on floyd gifs. I've seen plenty of clean shot gifs from Floyd in this thread. Floyd straight molly wopped this dude in the 5 rounds I watched.

Floyd wins easily = he is a boring fighter and runs like a chicken
Floyd go blow for blow and is in a fight = he lost and washed up
No matter what he do he will be scrutinized I don't blame him for only wanting the money now

THIS. I'm reading some articles today from respected sportswriters and it's embarassing. Floyd won the fight, clearly. He hit the cleaner, harder strikes. First five rounds saw Maidana hit a low blow, headbutt and an attempted knee strike, then late on he threw a Rhyno Gore! in. These cats out here trying to play Mortal Kombat and dude gets props and they say Floyd is aging. I don't get it.

It was a very close fight IMO, but I had Floyd winning 7-5.

In the beginning Maidana was controlling the fight and everything was going his way. You could tell he was really bullying and frustrating Floyd on the ropes (even if he wasn't landing everything). After 6, it was 4-2 Chino.

Floyd had made his adjustments though and starting controlling the pace, keeping the fight in the middle. After round 8, it was tied 4-4.

After that Chino gassed and Floyd won 3 of the last 4 rounds.

It was a close fight though and definitely Floyds toughest fight since Castillo. And by the way, those that are judging this fight based on numbers are essentially conceding that Floyd lost the 1st fight to JLC. Compubox stats have been known to be very flawed.

All that being said, it was a great fight and I'd definitely be up for a rematch

I watched the fight again, I can't believe how one sided this shyt is in Mayweather's favor

Whoever was doing the commentary with paulie was on that jim lampley shyt, talking about thudding over hand rights that weren't even landing

Maidana gotta restort to low blows butts, he trying to do arm cranks like Jon Jones ain't shyt

and when he did catch mayweather, shyt was like more like push than a punch, not really a thudding strike

now I see how the score cards came out the way they were

Mayweather won the first three rounds, easily starting out

I ain't watching no more fights on streams that lag and me seeing shyt that wasn't happening

I passed out drunk after the Khan fight and only caught the last 3 rounds... but a life & death struggle with crude ass Maidana though? :why:

Nah not at all. Money controlled the second half of the fight easily. It reminded me of his fight with DLH where he was getting credit for punches that never landed. The crowd would go crazy over flailing shots that missed consistently. Even the Showtime commentators got swept up in that for some reason when they're usually on point.

the crazy thing is floyd really didn't even make any wild adjustments. it was maidana's stamina that really changed the course of the fight. in the later rounds when maidana started punching more he was giving floyd problems again. this fight is just more proof that styles make fights. stylistically maidana was just frustrating the hell out of floyd. he was coming right over the top of the shoulder roll and throwing awkward ass punches that floyd couldn't time. I also think floyd was getting discouraged that he couldn't hurt maidana...to the head or the body. we've seen maidana hurt by damn near everybody he's fought. looked to me like floyd's punches didn't have that same snap to them. could be the old age or just the workrate of maidana that took something out of him. either way it was a good ass fight...maidana's stock is gonna rise big time. he's gonna be a problem for anybody now...dude is fighting with a confidence we've never seen. last night he went into the ring with absolutely no respect for floyd...like he really believed floyd couldn't fukk with him. after watching this, i'm really thinking shawn porter would give floyd major problems as well. dude is physically strong as fukk, even more awkward than maidana, and has a great workrate. hopefully we get to see that one down the road.
